Honors Thesis Novella

By any objective measure, things are not going well for Len Calder Carrion. He’s twenty-eight and the just-promoted, in-over-his-head manager of the Three Forks, Maine, branch of Flyin’ Flynn’s, a fast-food chain whose best days are decades behind it. He’s struggling with flagging sales, uncooperative employees, and a maddeningly ambiguous relationship with his most recent hire, former corporate consultant Reagan Waterhorn, who’s moved back home to reprise the same fry cook job she held when she was sixteen. And then he stumbles upon a secret Reagan’s kept hidden her whole life: once, she could fly. And now she can’t.

This is the novella—as yet untitled—that I am currently writing as my Senior Honors Thesis for Wesleyan’s English department. You can download a short excerpt from an in-progress draft here (PDF).
